The rumours have been going for a little while now but now they've been confirmed -- Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be departing Sporting Lisbon for Norwich City in the summer. The Canaries have confirmed the impending deal, which apparently still requires some paperwork, on their official website, with manager Chris Hughton endorsing the signing:
Ricky van Wolfswinkel to join Norwich in summer

Ricky’s profile is a perfect fit for us – he’s young, ambitious and a proven goal-scorer.
He has an excellent goal-scoring pedigree and he’s a young man very keen to continue his personal progression and to play in England. He’s already an exciting talent but he still has more development as a player ahead of him.
Although van Wolfswinkel’s having a down year compared to his excellent first campaign in Portugal (although that’s a lot to do with the fact that his team is terrible), he’s still an excellent striker and will help the Canaries avoid overreliance on the slumping Grant Holt. Depending on how much Norwich are paying for him, this could end up looking like a superb deal. Either way, they’ve added a good player who should thrive in the Premier League.
And Tottenham Hotspur still only have two-thirds of a striker. Hrm.
