Bolivia vs. Argentina, 2014 World Cup qualifying: Preview and TV schedule

Argentina face both Bolivia and their own ghosts as they return to La Paz for the first since an embarrassing 6-1 defeat back in 2009.

Argentina haven't played in La Paz since April 1st, 2009 when they suffered a ridiculous and embarrassing 6-1 defeat against Bolivia in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. Much has changed since that loss including the head coach, but the memories remain waiting to be exorcised by La Albiceleste.

Angel Di Maria returns from a one-match ban with the extra motivation of wanting to redeem himself after his red card in the 2009 defeat against Bolivia. Head coach Alejandro Sabella has kept quiet about his lineup plans but the one certainly is that Fernando Gago is out due to a muscle strain.

Argentina are in first place in CONMEBOL qualifying with 23 points.

Bolivia will likely need to lean on the ridiculous home field advantage with the match being played 3,500m above sea level. Bolivia are struggling in the wake of their 5-0 loss to Colombia and find themsleves four points out of a playoff spot in 8th place. In addition starting goalkeeper Carlos Arias picked up a muscle injury in the loss and Sergio Galarza will take over in goal. Defender Ronald Raldes returns from a one-match suspension.

Match Date/Time: 4 p.m. local, 4 p.m. ET

Venue: Estadio Hernando Siles, La Paz, Bolivia

TV: beIN Sport en Español (U.S.)
