Mexico vs. USA, 2014 World Cup qualifying: Time and TV schedule

Mexico and the United States resume their rivalry with the first of two World Cup qualifying matches between the two sides this year. Here’s when and where you can see the match.

Update: Final Score - Mexico 0-0 USA: Match report.

There's nothing quite like a World Cup qualifier between Mexico and the United States at the Azteca in Mexico City. It's a broiling cauldron of pollution SMAUG, people and questionable beer that always leads to dramatic moments and usually a loss by the US.

Sure, Jurgen Klinsmann and a relative B roster managed to pull off a win at the Azteca last August, but that was not a qualifying match. The stadium was nowhere near full (it’s sold out for today’s match) and there was none of the pressure that will be felt today.

The US will be without midfielder Jermaine Jones after he suffered a sprained ankle in the now officially protested win over Costa Rica on Friday night. US Soccer announced late Monday that Michael Orozco Fiscal had been called in to replace the injured Jones on the roster. With the physical midfielder out, either Maurice Edu or Kyle Beckerman are expected to be Klinsmann's choice to start in place of Jones.

Mexico will be without captain ‘Maza’ Francisco Rodriguez due to suspension. They previously believed that Jorge Torres Nilo would be suspended for the match, but he is not suspended and should start at left back.

Match Date/Time: 8:30 p.m. local, 10:30 p.m. ET

Venue: Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, Mexico

TV: ESPN, Univision, UniMás (U.S.)

Online: ESPN3
