Mexico vs. USA, 2014 World Cup Qualifying: Mexico looking more dangerous, as you might expect

Update: Final Score - Mexico 0-0 USA: Match report.

The opening couple minutes of the match were a bit herky jerky and disjointed but the United States had the better of possession early and did a good job keeping the ball away from Mexico. There was nothing particularly dangerous about the US but at least they weren't sitting back.

When Mexico did get the ball and push forward they managed to look dangerous, or at least create potentially dangerous moments for the US defense.

DeMarcus Beasley was tested early did great with the first attack but earned a yellow card for taking down Giovani Dos Santos in the 8th minute. The subsequent free kick whizzed through the box and out for a goal kick but it was definitely a nervy moment for the US.

The US came very close in the 15th minute on their first corner of the match after Geoff Cameron's header went just wide. The referee blew his whistle for a foul but there didn't seem to be anything there. Close call for both sides.

No surprises really from the opening 15 minutes though, despite the US attempting to push forward early it was only a matter of time before Mexico became to exude pressure on the defense. They haven’t broken though yet but as the crowd ramps up and Mexico sees more of the ball, you get the feeling it’s coming.
