Panama moved to the top of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying Hexagonal group, as Los Canaleros beat Honduras 2-0 on Tuesday. Panama is on five points through three matches. Los Catrachos, who had previously led the group, remain on four points.

Luis Tejada got Panama off to a blazing start, scoring his 34th international goal in the 2nd minute. It was also his 10th career goal in World Cup qualifying. Both marks are the best in Panama’s history.
Tejada was able to get free right in front of the goal mouth and put away Leonel Parris’ feed.
Honduras' best chance to equalize came on a Carlos Costly header in the 20th minute. But his attempt from a tough angle hit the crossbar.
That proved a costly miss, as Panama essentially sealed the result with a 75th minute strike from Blas Perez. The FC Dallas man struck from about 19 yards out, scoring his 29th international goal for Los Canaleros.
