The Boston Breakers will be staying at home this weekend instead of heading out west to face FC Kansas City. Due to the ongoing situation in the Boston area regarding the search for a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing, among other alleged crimes, the game between the two teams will be postponed.
FC Kansas City vs. Boston Breakers postponed
Due to the ongoing manhunt and resulting issues surrounding travel in Boston, the Breakers will not travel to face FC Kansas City this weekend.
NEWS: Saturday’s game between the Breakers and FC Kansas City will be rescheduled to a future date due to the ongoing situation in Boston.

Boston and a number of surrounding communities have been on virtual lockdown all day on Friday as authorities continue to search for a suspect at large and diffuse other threats in the area. Local airports are operational, but under heightened security. The Breakers likely faced challenges in both getting to the airport and flying out of Boston soon enough for them to play Kansas City that were too difficult for them to navigate.
The NWSL season is very congested, so finding a free date where feasible travel arrangements can be made for the Breakers may prove difficult. Their next scheduled away game against Kansas City is on May 18, and they do not have a midweek game scheduled for either the preceding or following week. Their next trip to the midwest after that is on June 9, when they face the Chicago Red Stars. They have a mid-week game in the week preceding that game, but not the week after.
