Paris Saint-Germain vs. Barcelona, 2013 UEFA Champions League: Messi puts Barca ahead 1-0

Seven minutes before the halftime break, Barcelona took the lead and secured a key away goal thanks to Dani Alves and Lionel Messi.

After PSG had dominated the match’s first 30 minutes, Barca settled things down and started to chip away at the Parisian defense. In the 38th minute, the games’ first goal arrived after Dani Alves found Messi on the left side of the Barca area with a beautiful chip over the PSG defense.

All alone against the keeper, Messi allowed the ball to bounce once before sending it across Salvatore Sirigu and into the net, just inside the post. It was a lovely strike by Messi and an absolutely crushing way to finish the half for PSG who had looked extremely strong up to that point.

Another reminder that you cannot waste your chances against a team like Barcelona.
