Mario Götze’s day lasted only 14 minutes as the 20-year-old German midfielder was forced out of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League second leg match against Real Madrid with an apparent hamstring injury.
Mario Götze injury: Hamstring injury takes Dortmund star out of the game early
Dortmund’s 20-year midfield star was forced out of today’s Champions League match with an apparent hamstring injury.

Götze pulled up and immediately went over to the physios on the Dortmund bench looking angry and frustrated and he rubbed and grabbed at the back of his leg. Juürgen Klopp wasted no time making a chance, bringing on the dependable and versatile Kevin Grosskreutz.
It’s definitely a blow for Dortmund but given the tremendous amount of pressure that Madrid have had them under early, having to bring on a more than capable player like Gorsskreutz isn’t the worst thing that could happen.
Götze will have plenty of time to heal if Dortmund can hold on and advance to the final with the Bundesliga already decided.
