Real Sociedad vs. Malaga, 2013 La Liga: Final score 4-2, Sociedad move closer to a fourth place finish
Real Sociedad took advantage of a weakened Malaga side focused on the Champions League to open up a four point advantage in fourth place.

Sociedad began their scoring in the 21st minute thanks to a prolonged spell of attacking in the Malaga end. Imanol Agirretxe nearly put a short range header off a cross from Antoine Griezmann past Carlos Kameni, but the Malaga keeper made a nice save. Second later he couldn't deny Carlos Vela from short range and Sociedad were up 1-0.
The second goal for Sociedad came three minutes later when fullback Alberto De la Bella blasted a low shot into the bottom corner from 20-yards or so out. The Txuri-urdin netted their third goal in the 29th minute thanks to a glorious long ball from Agirretxe that was chested down at full speed by Griezmann who blasted a shot past by Kameni.
Malaga pulled a goal back before halftime on a volley blast by Pedro Morales. The initial long ball into the area was headed back out by Sociedad's Carlos Martinez, but Morales charged down the clearance and blasted a shot on frame before it could hit the ground. Claudio Bravo was in the right place to stop the shot, but could only parry the ball away and into his net, making the score 3-1 at the break.
Iñigo Martínez wasted no time in the second time getting the conceded goal back for Sociedad. The defender got free on a corner and beat Kameni with a diving header to make it 4-1.
Roque Santa Cruz caught the Sociedad defense napping in the 70th minute, powering home a header off a long cross from the left side and making the score 4-2 with 20 minutes left to play.
A comeback was not in the cards for Malaga as Sociedad were able to withstand the late pressure and secure the victory.
