In one of the biggest FA Cup final upsets in history, Wigan Athletic scored in stoppage time to sink Manchester City and lift the cup for the first time in their history.
Wigan pull off an all-time great upset at Wembley

Mike HewittAfter a brief lull, City had their best chance of the game. Silva’s ball to Carlos Tevez ended up wrong-footing Joel Robles, but the Argentinian couldn’t find the net despite the keeper committing himself, with the ball striking Robles’ trailing leg to bounce over the bar.

Alex LiveseyAfter an energetic start, a lull in play soon followed, although City were to enjoy their best chance so far afterwards, with David Silva slipping the ball to Carlos Tevez in the area. Joel Robles was deceived by the Argentine as he dived the wrong way, but a combination of a poor effort from the striker and a huge slice of luck from the keeper resulted in the ball being diverted over via Robles’ trailing leg to keep the scores level.
The rest of the half was a more low-key affair, with both seems seemingly content to go in 0-0 after a pretty lively first half. The second should be a good one - Wigan have been more than equal opponents to City so far, but they may come to regret not getting in front should they run out of energy later.
