Sergio Canales out three weeks with a hamstring tear

Valencia attacking midfielder, who had just returned from hamstring injury, will now miss three weeks with a new hamstring tear as Los Che are chasing Real Sociedad for fourth place.

After just recently returning from an extended absence due to repeated injuries, Valencia midfielder Sergio Canales will once again miss time after he was diagnosed with a small tear in his left hamstring.

Canales returned back in mid-January after missing nearly 10 months with an MCL injury and has made 11 appearances for Valencia this season with two goals and two assist.

Tests revealed a small tear, roughly two centimeters long, in his left hamstring just a mere couple inches away from another tear he had suffered in April and just returned from last weekend after missing two weeks.

Valencia will be without their influential attacking midfielder as Los Che attempt to overtake Real Sociedad for fourth place and the final Champions League spot. Currently Valencia are two points behind Real their win over the weekend and Real's loss to Getafe yesterday.

Canales will miss Valencia's trips to Rayo Vallecano and Getafe along with a home match against Granada. He could be available for the season finale against Sevilla on June 1st.
