Poor Sergio Canales simply cannot catch a break. The young striker, one of the most talented prospects in Spanish football, has seen his career continuously marred by both injury and ill-timed moves, so it's no surprise to see him suffer yet another setback. This time it's a hamstring injury sustained with the Spanish Under-21 side.
Sergio Canales is injured again
Sergio Canales has torn his hamstring, because the universe will not tolerate a healthy Sergio Canales.

According to Football Espana, what looked like a minor hamstring strain turned out to be a full-blown tear, one which could rule out Canales for several months. This injury puts his preseason with Valencia in jeopardy, a desperately unlucky strike for someone who'll need time to get with the club. This is depressing, but it's not surprising -- Canales is easy to root for but so prone to setbacks that if he actually has a long career it'll be a bit of a shock. As soon as he recovers from this injury he'll probably get hit by a meteorite or eaten by a shark or something.
