Bayer Leverkusen sign Heung Min Son from Hamburg

Bayer Leverkusen have bolstered their attack with the addition of Hamburg’s Heung Min Son.

Yeah, Andre Schürrle is on his way to Chelsea, but Bayer Leverkusen have just made a move to bolster their squad for the upcoming season. Hueng Min Son will leave Hamburg for Leverkusen for roughly €10 million. If Leverkusen end up with Son and €12 million for Schürrle, then they will be very pleased.

Son, 20, scored 12 goals this season in the Bundesliga which was more than a fourth of all the goals that Hamburg scored all season long. Leverkusen managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser spoke on the transfer:

“In Heung-Min Son we have signed a player who was a key member of the HSV squad in spite of his youth. Son exactly fits our required profile as a young pro with the ability to develop his career and able to play at full international level. We’re happy he has opted to join Bayer 04 Leverkusen as the club where where he can most easily achieve his ambitious targets.”

Son will get the opportunity to prove his worth in big matches this season with Bayer Leverkusen qualifying straight into the group stage of the Champions league.
