Seattle Reign FC are gearing up to complete the season on a high. The Reign have decided to waive Tiffany Cameron and Lyndsey Patterson in order to sign highly anticipated arrival Megan Rapinoe, former USWNT defender Stephanie Cox and the Reign reserve Kennya Cordner.

Megan Rapinoe, Stephanie Cox and Kennya Cordner join the Reign’s 2013 roster as Tiffany Cameron and Lyndsey Patterson are waived.
The Reign have experienced a turbulent start to the season, but they’re hoping Rapinoe’s addition to the midfield will help them in all aspects of the game. The USWNT star has excellent vision, skill and is a very creative player, something Seattle has lacked this year.
Rapinoe is completing her season in France for the top seeded Divison 1 feminine club, Olympique Lyonnais. At the moment, Rapinoe is expected to make her debut for Seattle on June 29 when the Reign face Chicago at home.
From the start of the season, Seattle has had difficulty scoring. At the moment three out of Seatte’s four goal-scorers are midfielders, with a goal each. They’re hoping Cordner can help with that problem.
Cordner has been playing as a forward for the Seattle Reign FC reserves team in the WPSL, securing a victory for her team against Emerald City with a brace on her debut. Cordner has been playing in the WPSL since 2006 while also playing for her country, Trinidad and Tobago. Recently, Cordner scored for Seattle in a senior friendly against Haiti.
In regards to defense, Seattle has improved greatly with the introduction of Hope Solo between the posts. Solo has provided the defense with an added barrier that they needed but was unable to record a clean sheet. Cox should help Solo immensely. She is an experienced defender for the U.S. Women’s national team and a former member of the Seattle Sounders Women and the Boston Breakers.
