Chelsea announces the signing of André Schürrle
We knew it was coming, but the transfer of André Schürrle to Chelsea is now official according to the club’s website.

The 22-year-old began his professional career with Ludwigshafener SC, moved to Mainz 05 in 2009, before going back to Leverkusen in 2011. The forward/winger made 65 appearances with the Werkself, scoring 18 goals. He’s a versatile attacking player with the ability to play up front or out wide.
Schürrle has also made 24 appearances for the German national team, scoring seven goals.
According to statements made by Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler the Blues have been after Schürrle since 2011, so this move has been in the cards for awhile.
I’m sure every other EPL side will now be thrilled to know that Jose Mourinho has yet another talented attacking player at his disposal with potentially more on the way.
