Hamburg sign Jacques Zoua, Werder Bremen sign Luca Caldirola, and Schalke sell Jose Jurado

Transfers in Germany continue at a rapid pace with Hamburg and Werder bringing players into the Bundesliga, while Schalke ship one to Russia.

The transfer season continues in the Bundesliga this summer, with three clubs announcing deals in recent days. Hamburg and Werder Bremen are bringing players into Germany, while FC Schalke 04 are shipping one out to Russia.6.

Jacques Zoua joins Hamburg SV

Oliver Kreuzer’s first signing as Hamburg’s new director of football is Jacques Zoua from FC Basel. The 21 year old Cameroon international is under contract with HSV through the summer of 2016. He made 39 appearances for Basel last season, but the majority of them were spent as a substitute.

HSV is a great club and the Bundesliga is a major thing for me. Thorsten Fink was admittedly one of the main reasons for me joining. I also spoke to our national team coach Volker Finke, who told me that HSV is a big club with a lot of tradition. In his opinion a move to the Bundesliga would aid my development.

Werder Bremen sign Italy’s U-21 captain, Luca Caldirola

Robin Dutt’s side announced the signing of Italy’s U-21 captain Luca Caldirola today on a four year contract through June 2017. The centerback spent the 2012-2013 season on loan from parent club Inter Milan with Cesena and Brescia, both Serie B clubs. Caldirola showed well at the European U-21 Championship this summer and was named to the Team of the Tournament.

Thomas Eichin is obviously a fan of the move:

“Luca Caldirola is a very interesting player. Despite his age, he has a lot of experience. He is captain of the U21 national team and proved his leadership qualities with his previous clubs. The fact that Luca has a lot of potential was seen at the U21 European Championship. He has a fine technique and a good eye while also being very creative in open play. We are very happy that he decided on SV Werder.”

Schalke sell Jose Manuel Jurado to Spartak Moscow

After spending this past season on loan with Spartak Moscow, Jose Manuel Jurado’s move is no permanent. Schalke expected much better play than what they ever received from Jurado after he made the move to Germany after a successful stint with Atletico Madrid.
