Despite rumours all summer long that Isco would be following former manager Manuel Pellegrini's footsteps by heading to Manchester City, the Malaga playmaker has instead opted to join Real Madrid. The club's official website has now confirmed the deal, which was leaked earlier in the week.
Real Madrid announce Isco capture
No surprise here: Real Madrid have announced the signing of 21-year-old Malaga midfielder Isco.

The transfer will not be complete until Isco passes a medical on July 3rd, but assuming that he does, the 21-year-old will sign a five-year contract with the club. Neither wages nor a transfer fee have been confirmed, but the latter can be expected to at least hit the €30 million mark while his wages could approach €100,000 per week.
With Mesut Ozil and Luka Modric already fighting it out to play behind the striker, it's not clear where Isco will play next season. But as one of Europe's brightest young talents, already a difference maker in La Liga and one of the key players in the Spanish under-21 setup, it's impossible not to see Carlo Ancelotti finding a way to fit him in with the rest of the squad.
