Eintracht Braunschweig has announced the signing of Simeon Jackson on a free transfer after the forward was released from Norwich City at the end of last season. Jackson is the fifth signing this summer as Die Löwen look to strengthen their side for their upcoming Bundesliga season.

Eintracht Braunschweig have added Simeon Jackson to their side for the upcoming Bundesliga season.

Jackson, 26, showed well during his first season with Norwich while the club was playing in the English Championship (second division) and even scored the goal that guaranteed their promotion into the Premier League. Once in the top flight however, Jackson struggled to fully adapt to the level of play and was released at the end of the season.

“In Simeon we have another player that will add to the quality in our attack. He is a versatile footballer and the second such player we have recruited after Torsten Oehrl.”

“I’ve watched him for a long time now. He is a player that works hard for the team and is extremely quick.”
I’m the first to admit that I haven’t seen much of Jackson’s game, so I went to SB Nation’s Waking The Red and spoke with David Rowaan about his fellow countryman.
Simeon Jackson is a small forward who excelled with Norwich in the Championship but could not cut it in the Premier League. He worked his way up the lower leagues in England by being a decent finisher with good pace, but he disappears from games though against physical defenders when he can’t find space.
Hopefully, he’ll play better for Braunschweig than he did for Norwich.
