Midfielder Andrea Poli has joined AC Milan from Sampdoria, with defender Bartosz Salamon joining the blucerchiati in return.

It's a great acquisition for Milan, with Poli unquestionably an upgrade on Mathieu Flamini in an energetic midfield role. At only 23, the Italian international is considerably younger than the Frenchman, who looks set to leave the rossoneri this summer. Poli will be battling for a starting spot in Max Allegri's first eleven right away, offering a mobile option alongside the more creative Riccardo Montolivo and anchorman Nigel De Jong.
As for Salamon, he'll hope to break into the Sampdoria first team after a frustrating few months on the Milan bench. The defender arrived at the San Siro in January after impressing at Brescia in Serie B, though failed to make a single appearance. Only 22-years-old, he could prove to be a good capture for Delio Rossi's team.
