AS Roma confirmed the arrival of Tin Jedvaj from Dinamo Zagreb on their website, for a fee of €5 million. The 17-year-old is currently a Croatian youth international and only made his professional debut earlier this year, and joins the giallorossi despite supposedly strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
AS Roma sign young defender Tin Jedvaj
Roma have won the race to sign Croatian centre-back Tin Jedvaj, paying €5 million for the talented teenager.

His arrival has been confirmed only days after fellow centre-back Mehdi Benatia joined from Udinese, as the giallorossi continue to strengthen their defence. With Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain both reportedly interested in their defensive wonderkid Marquinhos, it's not a surprise.
However, for the moment Jedvaj almost definitely won’t be a regular in the Roma first team. The club’s CEO Italo Zanzi spoke about building “a team for the future” upon the Croatian’s introduction. However, if he lives up to his potential, it shouldn’t be too long before we see him in Serie A. Notably good at building play from the back as well as the usual defensive tasks, Roma may well be replacing one teenage star centre-back with another.
