USA vs. Honduras, 2013 Gold Cup: Lineups

Jurgen Klinsman has made a few changes to his team for the Gold Cup semifinals.

Jurgen Klinsmann called in Omar Gonzalez to help solidify the United States defense for the Gold Cup semifinals, or so we thought. Despite having the defender join the team before the match versus Honduras, Klinsmann has chosen to start Clarence Goodson next to Matt Besler again, leaving Gonzalez on the bench.

In addition to the change in defense, Klinsmann has opted to start Stuart Holden over Mix Diskerud and Alejandro Bedoya over Joe Corona. The changes could be made to give the players rest with so many matches in a short timeframe, but he is taking a chance in dropping Corona and trying the still-recovering Holden.

United States (4-2-3-1): Nick Rimando; DaMarcus Beasley, Clarence Goodson, Matt Besler, Michael Parkhurst; Kyle Beckerman, Stuart Holden; Jose Francisco Torres, Landon Donovan, Alejandro Bedoya; Eddie Johnson.

We will have an update when the Honduras lineup is released.
