Kevin Gameiro injured during his first training session with Sevilla

It’s not a serious injury, but having to leave your first training session with a new club was certainly not the way the new Sevilla striker wanted to get things started.

Mike Hewitt

New Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro left training today with what is being reported as a grade I groin injury that will keep the French forward out for about a week. It was Gameiro’s first time training with his new club after joining Los Nervionenses from Paris Saint-Germain last week.

This was Sevilla's first training session back at home after their trip to South America and the 500 plus fans in attendance got to see their club's new striker limp off the pitch.

What a start.

Gameiro will likely be out for Sevilla’s Europa League third round qualifier first leg match against Mladost Podgorica on Thursday but shouldn’t miss any more time beyond that, as long as there are no complications with the injury.
