We all knew that St. Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be going places after an outstanding season in Ligue 1 last year, but I don’t think too many would have imagined him climbing this high, this fast:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs with Borussia Dortmund

Aubameyang joins the Champions League and Bundesliga runners up, and it looks like he’s in pole position to replace Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires at the end of the next season. That will give Aubameyang, who’s signed through the 2017/18 season, time to find his feet before being thrust into the spotlight -- just as Lewandowski was used behind Lucas Barrios before breaking into the BVB side.
The two aren’t really similar strikers, with Aubameyang playing more of a pacey, counterattackering game than Lewandowski, but Jurgen Klopp should be able to managed the transition without too much trouble. Although the transfer fee hasn’t been disclosed, the rumour mill has it around €14 million. Not a bad deal at all for either side.
