Released by Fiorentina at the end of last season, Luca Toni isn't quite finished yet. The 36-year-old striker has signed for the 16th different club of his 19-year professional career, looking to aid newly-promoted Hellas Verona in their fight against relegation.
Luca Toni joins Hellas Verona
Serie A veteran Luca Toni has joined Hellas Verona on a one-year contract.

Toni scored eight goals in 27 league appearances for Fiorentina last season, so there's still life in the World Cup-winning veteran yet. Even if he isn't going to be Verona's first-choice starter -- Daniele Cacia did, after all, score 24 league goals last season -- Toni is still a useful backup to have.
He offers Serie A experience by the bucketload, and sits alongside the signing of Palermo's Massimo Donati as an example of the mastini looking to stock up on veteran players. With departing Bologna captain Diego Pérez also strongly linked with a move to the Bentegodi, Verona are looking to compensate for a squad lacking in a lot of top-flight experience.
