There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Donovan’s early season hiatus was a much needed break or if it was a sign his heart was no longer in the game. This is just the latest piece of evidence that the time away was a good thing.

If Clint Dempsey does make his Seattle Sounders debut today, he will do so from the bench. The team’s new signing has been battling an illness so he will not start for the Sounders against Toronto FC, but he has been named to the bench.
The Sounders are using the same starting lineup that they went with a week ago, a rarely repeat XI for Sigi Schmid. Toronto FC is also using the same starting XI as they did a wee ago, matching 4-4-2’s with the Sounders at BMO Field.
