Wolfsburg announced the signing of Luiz Gustavo on their website, for a reported fee of €15 million. Arsenal had been strongly linked to the Brazilian international, though he's opted to stay in Germany and join the team that finished 11th in the Bundesliga last season.
Luiz Gustavo joins Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich
Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of Luiz Gustavo from Bayern Munich, despite strong interest from Arsenal.

It’s a great signing for Die Wölfe, with Luiz Gustavo having appeared regularly for Bayern over the last few seasons. He made a total of 64 league appearances after joining the Bavarians from Hoffenheim in 2011 and has forced his way into the national team, appearing in every game of the Seleção’s successful Confederations Cup campaign this summer.
However, with new coach Pep Guardiola set to try and squeeze Thiago Alcántara and Mario Götze into his Bayern first team this season, it's unsurprising that Luiz Gustavo has opted to move away. He'll get more regular football and should be able to ensure his place in the World Cup squad.
That’s no consolation for Arsenal fans, who are still looking for the Gunners to add to the signing of Yaya Sanogo this summer.
