Arsenal vs. Aston Villa: Lineups

Arsenal are dealing with a number of injuries that have left their bench thin, but their starting XI doesn’t look half bad.

While Arsenal are missing a number of senior players for their season opener, they have enough healthy players to field a solid starting XI against Aston Villa. Jack Wilshere, who sat out the end of last season with an ankle injury, is back to full fitness and will start in the center of midfield. Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla are both available off the bench for Arsene Wenger.

Villa have inserted new signing Antonio Luna into the starting XI straight away, but their other newly acquired young stars are going to have to wait for their first start in a Villa shirt.

Arsenal starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Wojciech Szczesny; Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Bacary Sagna; Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott; Olivier Giroud

Aston Villa starting lineup (4-3-3): Brad Guzan; Antonio Luna, Ron Vlaar, Nathan Baker, Matthew Lowton; Karim El Ahmadi, Ashley Westwood, Fabian Delph; Gabriel Agbonlahor, Christian Benteke, Andreas Weimann

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. local time, 10 a.m. ET. You can catch the game on NBC Sports Network in the U.S.
