It's good news and bad news for Arsenal on the Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain front. Already facing a ridiculously large butcher's bill from preseason, seeing Oxlade-Chamberlain limp off with a knee injury during the 3-1 home loss against Aston Villa added injury to insult, and there were fears that the problem might have been severe enough for the youngster to miss most of the season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain injury will keep winger out for at least 6 weeks

It turns out things aren’t quite that bad, but he’ll still miss significant time regardless:
Wenger on Oxlade-Chamberlain: "He will be out for at least six weeks. We don't think he will need surgery." #afc

Arsenal, of course, are somewhat notorious for their optimism regarding injuries, and they’re taking an interesting gamble here -- if Oxlade-Chamberlain does turn out to need surgery, the transfer window will probably be closed by the time they find out about it, making him more difficult to replace. But at least there’s hope he’ll be back by October this way.
