Both Aston Villa and Liverpool's seasons have started positively, with the Villans winning at Arsenal (and arguably being robbed of a point at Chelsea) and the Reds winning their opener as well. Now they square off at Villa Park looking to keep up their good form.
Aston Villa vs. Liverpool: Lineups
The Liverpool back line will have their hands full with Christian Benteke, who terrorized the Chelsea defense on Wednesday. Daniel Agger and Kolo Toure were shaky when challenged last week and this week Benteke won’t let them off the hook like Stoke did.
The Reds are still talking about making a run at a spot in the top four, which means excelling away from Anfield, like they did a year ago. Liverpool had the sixth best away record in the league, and if they can turn a a couple of their seven away draws into wins this year, their Champions League dreams may prove a little more realistic.
Aston Villa: Brad Guzan; Antonio Luna, Ron Vlaar, Jores Okore, Matthew Lowton; Ashley Westwood, Fabian Delph, Leandro Bacuna; Gabby Agbonlahor, Christian Benteke, Andreas Weimann.
Liverpool: Simon Mignolet; Jose Enrique, Daniel Agger, Kolo Toure, Glen Johnson; Lucas, Steven Gerrard; Philippe Coutinho, Iago Aspas, Jordan Henderson; Daniel Sturridge.
