AC Milan vs. Celtic: Preview and TV schedule

Both teams will be dealing with injuries but there’s not doubt AC Milan are the harder hit of the two sides in their Champions League group stage opener.

Valerio Pennicino

If an episode of M.A.S.H breaks out during Wednesday's group-stage opener between AC Milan and Celtic, don't be concerned: it's not their fault.

Both sides are dealing with injuries, but Milan are in far worst shape with five starters sidelined with various ailments and another potential starter doubtful. Kaka, Riccardo Montolivo, Stephan El-Shaarawy, Ignazio Abate and Mattia De Sciglio will all be out with Andrea Poli doubtful. Fun! Fortunately for Massimiliano Allegri, he's still got some weapons available for selection.

Celtic will be sweating the availability of Adam Matthews and Joe Ledley as both players race to get fit. Both men traveled to Italy and will likely play if they pass a pre-match fitness test.

AC Milan injuries and suspensions

Out: Kaka (ankle), Montolivo (thigh), El-Shaarawy (thigh), Abate (shoulder), De Sciglio (knee). In doubt: Andrea Poli (thigh bruise).

Celtic injuries and suspensions

Out: James Forrest (sciatica/illness), Steven Mouyokolo (achilles). In doubt: Joe Ledley (groin), Adam Matthews (ankle).
