Emmanuel Mayuka found his opportunities a bit limited at Southampton in his first season with the club, and looked likely to face more time on the sidelines in this coming year with Pablo Osvaldo coming to the club. However, the south coasters likely still have hope that the 22-year-old could become a key contributor for them someday. Rather than selling him, they've opted to loan him to Ligue 1 side Sochaux.

Mayuka can play up top and on either wing, so he'll be a versatile option for a Sochaux team in serious need of reinforcements, particularly at striker. Zambia are still in contention for a World Cup place, so they'll be pleased that Mayuka has an opportunity to get playing time at a high level.
