Manchester United vs. West Bromwich Albion: Preview and TV schedule

The Red Devils look to get back on track in the league as they welcome West Brom to Old Trafford.

Julian Finney

Manchester United's lackluster start to the season was helped slightly after a mid-week League Cup victory over Liverpool, but it hardly lifts all the pressure that being put on David Moyes.

The likely return of Robin Van Persie will be a massive boost for United but their shaky defense has been a much bigger issue than their offense for the most part. Any slip-up against West Brom could send United further down the table and cause them to lose touch with the leaders at the top of the table. After last weekend's embarrassing defeat to Manchester City, getting a win will be of the utmost importance for Moyes.

The Baggies hope to have either Victor Anichebe or Nicolas Anelka available but both are questionable with minor injuries.

Manchester United injuries and suspensions

In doubt: Robin van Persie (groin), Tom Cleverley (knee)

West Brom injuries and suspensions

Out: Matej Vydra (hamstring, Zoltan Gera (hamstring), George Thorne (knee), Ben Foster (foot). In Doubt: Victor Anichebe (ankle), Nicolas Anelka (knock). Chris Brunt (groin),

Both Van Persie and Cleverley are expected to be available for United with the potential return of RVP a huge boost for David Moyes. West Brom will be without several players who are struggling to get back to fitness from injuries. Forward Victor Anichebe and Nicolas Anelka's status remain up the air, while Christ Brunt could make the bench.

Projected lineups

Manchester United: David DeGea, Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidić Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Antonio Valencia, Wayne Rooney, Nani, Robin Van Persie.

West Brom: Boaz Myhill, Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Jonas Olsson, Liam Ridgewell, Youssouf Mulumbu, James Morrison, Morgan Amalfitano, Stéphane Sessègnon, Scott Sinclair, Nicolas Anelka.
