Domenico Di Carlo replaces Attilio Perotti at Livorno after just 8 days

When Livorno take to the field against fellow strugglers Sassuolo this weekend, it will mean they've played each of their last three matches under different coaches. That's because Domenico Di Carlo has replaced Attilio Perotti after just one game and eight days in charge.

Perotti wasn't well received by the fans as the amaranto slumped to a miserable 3-0 loss to AS Roma -- their fifth consecutive defeat in Serie A. With the Tuscan outfit second-bottom of the table and four points from safety, the coach resigned after just a single game.

It's Di Carlo's first coaching job since he dragged a decent Chievo Verona side into relegation battle before being sacked a couple of years ago. Unfortunately he's not exactly the sort of inspirational appointment that's likely to drag them from their current predicament, and you can't help but wonder whether bringing Davide Nicola -- who won promotion with Livorno last season and was sacked to make way for Perotti -- would've been a better move.
