Manchester City have resigned themselves to defeat in their attempts to acquire Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando in this window, although will continue to keep them in mind for the summer, according to reports.
Manchester City abandon deadline day transfer plans by shelving two deals
Manchester City have reportedly called off their pursuit of Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala, for the time being at least.


Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News tweeted:
Mangala and Fernando deals are both off, could be resurrected in summer. City expect no deals to be done before deadline.

Manchester United have been linked with both and may also be competing for the pair in summer. Fernando's contract will expire in the summer, however, and he could talk to foreign clubs about a transfer from any time.
