Radja Nainggolan joins AS Roma

Roma have confirmed the signing of midfielder Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari.

Radja Nainggolan has been one of Serie A's most reliable midfielders for quite a while, but only now has he finally secured a deserved move away from mid-table side Cagliari. Roma have confirmed the signing of the Belgian international on loan for an initial €3 million, though with an option to sign half of him for twice that at the end of the season. That he has signed a contract until 2018 is indicative that he's going to be sticking around for quite a while.

It's a solid signing for Roma, even if Nainggolan will only likely be used in rotation with their other midfielders. Their current trio of Daniele De Rossi, Kevin Strootman and Miralem Pjanić are all pretty undroppable, and Nainggolan will probably only be able to break into the first team if the latter's rumoured move to Manchester United materialises -- though at the moment it's unclear how realistic that is.

Rather more clear is what this move means for Michael Bradley, who has only made five starts in the league this season. Bradley is now pushed even further down the pecking order, and having already been linked with a move away from the Olimpico this season, could well transfer in the next few weeks.
