Liverpool defender Daniel Agger picked up a calf strain in their FA Cup victory over Oldham Athletic on Sunday, and has since reportedly told a Danish newspaper that he'll be sidelined for around a month. It is the latest unfortunate twist in a difficult season for the 29-year-old, who has only made nine Premier League starts so far.

The strain means he'll likely miss Liverpool's massive upcoming games against Everton and Arsenal, as well as clashes against Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. Fortunately Brendan Rodgers should have Mamadou Sakho back from a hamstring injury in time for this weekend's match against Stoke City, with the Frenchman likely to return straight to the first-team alongside defensive partner Martin Skrtel.
Agger is the latest in a long line of defensive troubles for Liverpool, with centre-back Sebastián Coates, and full-backs José Enrique and Jon Flanagan all still sidelined. However they've had better news further up the pitch, with midfielder Steven Gerrard and on-form forward Daniel Sturridge set for imminent returns.
