Champions League scores: Borussia Dortmund rolled over Anderlecht, Malmo upset Olympiakos

Malmo shocked Olympiakos, Ludogrets nearly shocked Real Madrid, it was another exciting day of Champions League action.

Atlético Madrid and Italian champions Juventus was the day's best match on paper, but it turned in to tight, defensive affair won by Atléti thanks to a late from from Arda Turan. Arsenal took care of Galatasaray 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick by Danny Welbeck, while fellow EPL side Liverpool struggled in a 1-0 defeat to Basel.

Malmo provided the day’s one and only upset as they downed Olympiakos 2-0 thanks to a brace from Markus Rosenberg. Ludogrets could have scored the upset of the tournament against Real Madrid, but fell late thanks to a goal from Karim Benzema.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund both won, making it a good day for the Bundesliga, while Zenit St. Petersburg and AS Monaco bored everyone with a scoreless draw in the day’s early match.

Atlético Madrid 1-0 Juventus - Full match report

Arda Turan’s goal 15 minutes from full time was the difference as Atléti grabbed three points from a tough, defensive battle at the Vincente Calderón.

Malmo 2-0 Olympiacos

Swedish side Malmo pulled off the upset of the day, defeating Olympiakos 2-0. Markus Rosenberg did all the damage for Malmo, scoring in the 42nd and 82nd minute as Olympiacos wasted a chance to move into first place in Group A.

FC Basel 1-0 Liverpool - Full match report

Marco Streller’s 52nd minute goal off a rebound left by Simon Mignolet was the difference as Basel continued to find ways to trouble English sides in the Champions League. Liverpool wasted plenty of chances, with two goals disallowed to due offside calls, but they remain firmly in the fight to advance to the knockout round despite the result.

Ludogorets 1-2 Real Madrid - Full match report

For the second straight round Bulgarian side Ludogrets came close to a major upset, this time falling against Real Madrid thanks a late goal from Karim Benzema. Ludogrets took the lead early off a set piece, and seemed to be having all the luck as Cristiano Ronaldo had a penalty saved shortly thereafter. Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 Benfica

Leverkusen bounced back from an opening day defeat with a thorough 3-1 win over Benfica. Stefan Kießling, Son Heung-Min, and Hakan Calhanoglu were the goal scorers as the Germans moved within a point of Zenit and Monaco at the top of Group C.

Anderlecht 0-3 Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund cruised past Anderlect and remained perfect so fair in group stage play with a 3-0 win over the Belgian side. Ciro Immobile put the Germans in front just three minutes into the match, and a second half brace from Adrián Ramos put the game away. Dortmund are comfortably on top of Group D, three points clear of second place Arsenal.

Arsenal 4-1 Galatasaray - Full match report

Danny Welbeck’s hat-trick fueled Arsenal as they hammered Galatasaray 4-1 at the Emirates. The match also featured a delay in the first half after Galatasaray fans threw flares on the pitch, and a straight red card for Gunners keeper Wojciech Szczęsny in the second half.
