D.C. United will be without Luis Silva for their stretch run and at least the start of the MLS Cup playoffs. According to Steve Goff, Silva will miss four to six weeks with a hamstring injury, putting the midfielder on the sidelines at the worst possible time.
D.C. United’s Luis Silva to miss 4-6 weeks with hamstring injury
DCU’s leading scorer could be out when the league playoffs begin.

Silva leads D.C. with 11 goals this season and is third on the team in assists. He has been tremendous, helping the club to the top spot in the Eastern Conference with four matches to play.
Now D.C. will have to play without Silva for those final four matches, as well as their final CONCACAF Champions League group stage contest. The Champions League match isn't a big deal because DCU have already clinched their group, but they may struggle to stay ahead of the New England Revolution and Sporting Kansas City in the East without Silva.
If Silva is able to return in four weeks, he will only miss the conference semifinals. The international break would also give him an extra week to recover so a five-week absence will also see him return in time for the start of the Eastern Conference final. If he is out for the maximum six weeks, then he will not play until the second leg.
