Free kick of the day comes from England’s third division

Jordan Mansfield

This fall, League One side Peterborough United signed 21-year-old attacker Marcus Maddison from non-league team Gateshead United. That’s turned out to be a really excellent purchase, since he’s made a habit of doing stuff like this. On Saturday, his 30-yard free kick was the difference in Posh’s 2-1 win over Barnsley. They’re up to an automatic promotion place, and if Maddison gets them up to the Championship, they’ll probably see him as £500k well spent.
