Diego Costa will miss Chelsea's Champions League match on Tuesday against Maribor with a hamstring injury. The Spanish striker has been battling the ailment for most of the season and was unable to rest the injury during the international break, leading Jose Mourinho to express his annoyance with national team managers.
Jose Mourinho angry with Spain after Diego Costa ruled out of Maribor match
The Chelsea manager believes Diego Costa’s lingering hamstring issues were exacerbated by the striker’s time on international duty.

“Sometimes you have national coaches and medical departments that want to establish a relationship and they are interested in the players, their physical condition, their habits. Some others they simply don’t care. This is not something we can resolve.”
Mourinho believes that Vincente del Bosque and his staff didn’t handle Costa’s injury well during matches against Slovakia and Luxembourg, leading to further damage to the hamstring.
Costa has scored nine goals in seven Premier League matches for the Blues this season, so not having the star striker on the pitch is a big blow for Mourinho and the Chelsea faithful.
