Chelsea manager José Mourinho has indicated that Loïc Rémy, who picked up an injury against Maribor on Tuesday night, will miss Sunday's trip to Manchester United. With Diego Costa still struggling with a persistent hamstring problem, it appears that Chelsea could be short of options for their visit to Old Trafford. Not that a stoic Mourinho sounds overly concerned:
José Mourinho rules Loïc Rémy out of Manchester United game, Rémy disagrees
Ahead of this weekend’s big game, Chelsea may be down to just one fit striker.

I’m not worried. We don’t cry on injuries. When a player is injured, play another one. It’s our philosophy, we don’t cry. We just think one injury means an opportunity for somebody else.
Mourinho also added that injuries of this kind -- Rémy has damaged a muscle in his groin -- normally lead to a layoff of around two weeks. However, Rémy himself is more optimistic, and is awaiting the results of a scan before ruling himself out:
I really hope it is not too bad. Fortunately I stopped playing because I felt something. I don’t think it is too bad but I felt something. Yes, it’s frustrating of course because I had a chance to play because Costa is injured but I am not afraid. I don’t think it is really bad. We will check and I really hope to play again this weekend.
If Rémy is injured, then Mourinho will either have to start veteran Didier Drogba — who scored his first goal back at the club after replacing Rémy on Tuesday night — or move one of his stable of attacking midfielders up front. Either way, 17-year-old striker Dominic Solanke, who made his debut in the same game as a late substitute, could well retain his place on the bench.
