Liverpool have had a pretty tough start to the season, both domestically and in the Champions League. Nevertheless, Brendan Rodgers' side will hope to be able to turn things around by recording their third straight Premier League win on Saturday, as Steve Bruce's Hull City visit Anfield.
Liverpool vs. Hull City live stream: How to watch the EPL online
Liverpool will be looking to record their third straight Premier League victory at home to Hull on Saturday.
However, Liverpool shouldn't be expecting an easy fixture, with Hull having proved to be stubborn opponents for just about everyone they've come across so far this season. Manchester City conceded twice en route to a pretty fortuitous 4-2 victory against the Tigers, while Arsenal needed a last-gasp goal to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to the Humberside club last week. They may be down in mid-table, but they're no pushovers.
Key player - Eldin Jakupović (Hull City)
For this match, Hull will be without their first- and second-choice goalkeepers, meaning third-choice man Eldin Jakupović will take his place between the sticks. With Liverpool sure to carve out a good few goalscoring chances, the former Swiss international will have to be on top form.
Key matchup - Mohamed Diamé vs. Steven Gerrard
The real star of this pretty exciting Hull team is central midfielder Mohamed Diamé, who has been outstanding since completing his move to the KC Stadium from West Ham United in the summer. The industrious box-to-box midfielder netted in Hull's draw with Arsenal last weekend, courtesy of one of his classic runs from deep in midfield. With such ability on the ball, Liverpool's holding midfielder Steven Gerrard could have big problems.
Liverpool injuries and suspensions
Out: Mamadou Sakho (thigh), Jon Flanagan (knee), Daniel Sturridge (calf). In doubt: None.
Hull City injuries and suspensions
Out: Nikica Jelavić, Robert Snodgrass (knee), Michael Dawson (ankle), Steve Harper (arm), Allan McGregor (shoulder). In doubt: None.
Liverpool's big absentee is still striker Daniel Sturridge, whose absence could lead to the struggling Mario Balotelli maintaining his place up top. Their other absences are purely defensive, with centre-back Mamadou Sakho and full-back Jon Flanagan still out. Aside from goalkeeping duo Steve Harper and Allan McGregor, Hull will be without centre-back Michael Dawson and attackers Nikica Jelavić and Robert Snodgrass.
