Sounders vs. Galaxy live stream: How to watch the MLS Supporters’ Shield decider online

Here’s how you can catch the biggest game of the MLS regular season: A last-day match with the Supporters’ Shield on the line for the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders.

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Following their draw last week, the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders prolonged their Supporters' Shield battle for one more round. And on Saturday, they meet in their final regular season match of 2014 to decide who will lift the trophy (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC).

Seattle and LA are tied on 61 points, so either takes the Shield with a victory. The tiebreaker in the Supporters’ Shield race is wins, which Seattle currently holds by two, so they can lift the Shield for the first time in their history with just a draw at home.

Neither team picked up any big injuries last week, but LA will be without one of their biggest stars. Central defender Omar Gonzalez picked up a late red card in that match, so he will be suspended for his team's trip to CenturyLink Field.

If you’re used to using MLS Live, unfortunately you won’t be able to watch the game on that service. However, this game is going to be very accessible for everyone online. Because the game is being shown on NBC, you can catch the game for free on NBC Sports Live Extra. Unlike their streams for games on NBCSN, you will not need to be a TV subscriber to watch this stream, because it’s on free-to-air television.

In Canada, you can catch the game on TSN online. For listings from other countries, check out Live Soccer TV.
