Juventus defender Patrice Evra out a month

Valerio Pennicino

New signing Patrice Evra has given Juventus some excellent depth at left wingback, but the Bianconeri are right back to where they were last season, at least for the next month. Evra will miss approximately that much time with a hamstring injury, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Evra sat out this weekend's win over Palermo, and he's been rotating with last year's first choice left wingback, Kwadwo Asamoah, all season. They've both started four of Juve's Serie A matches, while Evra has started two Champions League matches to Asamoah's one.

As far as timing goes, Juventus and Evra are quite lucky. Their upcoming schedule isn't too tricky, though there are a couple of matches they'd probably like to have Evra for. They host Olympiacos in Champions League on November 4, then go away to Lazio on November 22. The Turin derby against Torino on November 30 is right on the edge of his recovery timeframe, and he should be back for matches against Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid in early December.
