It doesn’t seem like it has been that long since Puma introduced its last set of colorways for its two most widely-repped boot silos, the evoSPEED and evoPOWER. A look back at the calendar says otherwise and it has now been over three months since the brand’s stars shed their blue and pink Tricks colorway boots for the bright purple and yellow pairs that dropped ahead of the current league season. With everything now in full swing, Puma have unveiled a new duo although one is a bit familiar.
Puma shows off new colorways for evoPOWER and evoSPEED 1.3

In technical terms, nothing has changed with either boot silo apart from the paint job. The evoPOWER, worn by the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Mario Balotelli, Diego Godin, Nemanja Matic, and many more, will make its full debut this weekend but it was Fabregas who was allowed to give them their full debut during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Manchester United. The new colorway is mostly made up of a color that Puma are calling "pool green" with "grenadine" studs, instep details, and studs. The formstrip and Puma logo on the top of the foot are both white.
The evoSPEED is arguably the better looking of the pair with a very sleek black colorway. The Puma wordmark on the instep fades from white to the same “pool green” that’s found on the evoPOWER and like its sibling, the formstrip on the outside of the boot is white. The studs and SpeedTrack on the outsole also use the “pool green” color.
Speaking about the new boot, Manchester City's Sergio Agüero said:
“This latest evoSPEED colorway is a more classic design, more like how football boots used to be. I like it a lot, PUMA have done a great job with it, and I’m looking forward to wearing it on the pitch. It’s been a really good start to the season for me, my fitness is good now and I’m scoring goals which makes me happy. There’s no doubt this evoSPEED boot helps me get the space I need to do that.”
Both boots are available now.
