Wayne Rooney in, Radamel Falcao out for Manchester Derby

Manchester United will face City on Sunday with a fully fit Wayne Rooney.

Shaun Botterill

On Sunday, Manchester United pay a visit to Manchester City, hoping to take advantage of their rivals’ recent dip in form. To do that, of course, they’ll need the strongest side available. Unfortunately, Radamel Falcao will continue to miss out. But Wayne Rooney is fit!

Rooney missed the last three matches due to suspension, after aiming a kick at Stewart Downing (c’mon, don’t tell me you’ve never been tempted). He was seen limping earlier this week, but now that he’s confirmed fit, he’ll almost certainly start against City.

As for Falcao, well, apparently the knock he was carrying last week is more serious than first thought. But after Robin van Persie finally hit the net against Chelsea, perhaps it doesn’t matter that the pricey Colombian isn’t set to go?
