Fiorentina vs. Inter Milan: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Fiorentina will hope to kickstart their season with a win over inconsistent Inter Milan on Sunday.

Claudio Villa

Fiorentina will look to finally kickstart their season when they host Inter Milan at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday. Vincenzo Montella's side were one of the favourites for a top three finish heading into the new season, but a combination of poor form and injuries have seen them win just once in their opening five matches. Heading into this weekend's game, they're down in 10th place.

Inter, meanwhile, are five places higher in the table, though they've scarcely been any more consistent. The nerazzurri looked like they'd be a serious Champions League qualification contender when they smashed Sassuolo 7-0 in the opening matchday, but last week's stunning 4-1 loss at the hands of lowly Cagliari has forced fans into tapering their optimistic predictions. No one knows which Inter will turn up at the Franchi on Sunday.

Key player - Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina)

After a couple of excellent seasons at Fiorentina, Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado was reportedly subject to interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United in the summer. However, the viola managed to keep hold of their prize asset against the odds, and they’ll once again be expecting him to terrorise opposition full-backs this season. He’ll likely be up against Dodô in this match -- a talented, if defensively-suspect player -- and so he could well be of crucial importance.

Key matchup - Fiorentina's depleted attack vs. Inter's backline

Unfortunately for Fiorentina, they're still without their top two strikers in Mario Gómez and Giuseppe Rossi, meaning the responsibility of leading the line will once again fall on the shoulders of youngster Khouma Babacar. He'll be looking to take advantage of any slip-ups Inter make in their defence, with Nemanja Vidić in particular having looked shaky since moving to Serie A from Manchester United in the summer.

Fiorentina injuries and suspensions

Out: Mario Gómez, Giuseppe Rossi, Joaquín, Marko Marin, Micah Richards (injured). In doubt: None.

Inter Milan injuries and suspensions

Out: Jonathan, Hugo Campagnaro (injured); Yuto Nagatomo (suspended). In doubt: None.

Aside from their two top strikers being sidelined, Fiorentina are also without versatile attackers Joaquín and Marko Marin, and defender Micah Richards. Inter have wing-backs Jonathan and Yuto Nagatomo both out, as well as veteran centre-back Hugo Campagnaro.
