Thibaut Courtois plays on after knock to the head, substituted 12 minutes later
The Blues goalkeeper left Sunday’s match against Arsenal after colliding with Alexis Sanchez.

Ultimately he was unable to continue and after another round of treatment, he was replaced by Peter Cech. We’ll have to wait and see if the move was precautionary but it will no doubt lead to discussion and speculation about why Courtois was allowed to continue to playing after suffering a heady injury and possible concussion.
Losing Courtois for an extended amount of time would be a blow for the Blues, but having a goalkeeper with the experience and talent of Cech sitting on the bench will certainly cushion the blow of potentially losing the Belgian goalkeeper.
Chelsea will likely update Courtois’ status after the match or later during he week.
Update: According to The Guardian’s live blog, Courtois is being taken to the hospital.
