Borussia Dortmund earned their first league win in eight tries over the weekend but lost Marco Reus to a left ankle injury in the process. The club reported that Reus strained ligaments and tendons in the ankle and that there is swelling in the area.

The injury occurred during Dortmund’s match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, which BVB won, 1-0. Reus is expected to miss at least a couple weeks, with a return possible when the team returns to Bundesliga action against Paderborn later this month.

For now, the attacking midfielder will will miss Germany's Euro 2016 qualifier against Gibraltar and possibly a friendly against Spain. Reus missed last summer's World Cup with an ankle injury, and suffered another ankle injury back in September that cost his several weeks.
