Belgium and Iceland have huge European Championship qualifiers coming up later in the week, but first, they’re playing a warm-up against each other.

The two sides are currently in the exact opposite positions that one might expect. Iceland currently has a perfect record in Euro qualifying and sit on top of a group that includes the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, while Belgium have just four points and sit behind both Israel and Wales.
Belgium take on Wales in their upcoming qualifying match, so they’ll have a chance to move to the top of the table with a win. Iceland are preparing for an equally important match, against the Czechs, who also sit on nine points. If they can pull off another surprise win, they’ll have a huge advantage in Group A and will become favorites to take one of the two automatic qualifying spots.
Key player - Gylfi Sigurdsson (Iceland)
Sigurdsson is in brilliant form for Swansea City, and he’ll be expected to be at the center of everything Iceland does in this game. Iceland have an experienced defense shielded by Aron Gunnarsson and a solid striker in Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, but Sigurdsson ties everything together, and will be even more active in transitions than he is for Swansea.
Key matchup - Iceland’s fullbacks vs. Belgium’s wingers
Belgium have power in the midfield and up front, but their creativity will come from wide areas, no matter who plays. Eden Hazard is their most famous and dangerous star, but Dries Mertens, Kevin De Bruyne, Dennis Praet and Adnan Januzaj can all play either out wide or behind a striker, and they’ll be tough for Iceland to deal with.
